Incorporated as a not-for-profit foundation in 1971 and headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, the Forum is tied to no political, partisan or national interests.

SCHWAB FOUNDATION TEAM
GLOBAL LEADERSHIP FELLOW
An affiliate of the World Economic Forum, based in Geneva, Switzerland, the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship is recognized as a leading player in the field of social entrepreneurship. Together with key partners, the Foundation identifies outstanding social entrepreneurs from around the world. It provides unparalleled platforms at the country, regional and global levels, highlighting a network of 250 social enterprises, and through World Economic Forum meetings and initiatives acts to develop partnerships between social entrepreneurs and leaders in business, the public sector, media, civil society as well as other communities.
Your primary responsibilities:
• Generate awareness about social entrepreneurship among various stakeholders in Asia, strengthening the linkages between social entrepreneurs and the private sector
• Manage relationships with new and current Schwab Foundation Social Entrepreneurs based in Asia; intensify their engagement in World Economic Forum meetings and initiatives
• Coordinate the search for “Social Entrepreneur of the Year” and the selection process in Asia
• Shape knowledge creation and dissemination in the field of social entrepreneurship through facilitating working groups comprising the world’s most prominent experts and practitioners in social entrepreneurship; developing reports, articles and blogs as relevant
• Liaise with other communities, with industry teams as well as cross-industry initiatives to actively promote the Foundation’s network of social entrepreneurs
• Manage overall social entrepreneur programming and activities in association with World Economic Forum meetings in Asia
Responsibilities specific to this position:
• Develop and maintain a professional network throughout Asia to source high-calibre, late-stage social enterprise candidates that qualify by Schwab Foundation criteria
• Conduct due diligence on candidate organizations, including interviews, reference checks and evaluations of third party assessments. Shape the social innovation agenda by developing relevant and valuable public and private programming at World Economic Forum’s meetings in Asia (East Asia Summit, Annual Meeting of New Champions in China, and the India Economic Summit)
• Facilitate the provision of services by the Forum’s corporate partners to social entrepreneurs across the network (e.g. pro bono consulting)
Your major challenge:
• Building a working rapport with founders and CEOs of social enterprises across a range of sectors (e.g. health, environment, energy, financial inclusion); becoming well versed in this broad spectrum of issues to create value
• Continually improve upon private and official Forum programming to build a community spirit and generate new insights
You possess a broad academic background and a university degree (MA or equivalent) in a directly relevant field, as well as two or more years of experience in social entrepreneurship, international development (microfinance, public health, energy, rural development) and two years of private/business sector experience.
You can demonstrate leadership capabilities, excellence in the fields of business, civil society or social innovation and proven interest or aptitude in global affairs and/or cross-sector collaboration. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and in-depth, first-hand knowledge of Asia, having lived and worked there. Fluency in an Asian language would be a strong advantage. You are prepared to work in a dynamic and demanding environment, under pressure and within tight deadlines. You are a team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
You will join the Forum as part of the Global Leadership Fellows Programme (www.weforum.org/glf). As such, you will be fully integrated in the World Economic Forum and benefit from an intensive work and learning experience intended to develop and train future leaders of global enterprises and international organizations.
